BGP is one of the most complex routing protocols, yet it is also one of the most widely used because it scales extremely well and is highly extensible. When OMP interacts with BGP, there are a few important details you need to understand. We break them down into two parts:
- First, we look at the OMP features used in BGP-OMP redistribution.
- Then, we examine the built-in loop-prevention mechanisms that OMP uses to avoid control-plane routing loops during redistribution.
