As with every technology, the TLOC color parameter is not flexible enough to fit all use cases in the real world. By default, private colors use TLOCs’ private IP addresses when forming tunnels. However, specific scenarios occur where using the public (NATed) IP addresses between private colors is the desired behavior. Suppose we have two MPLS clouds that are interconnected using NAT, as shown below.
