In this lab example, we explore a specific scenario that occurs when a dual-homed, dual-WAN site advertises multiple routes for the same prefix with different OMP attributes. The site typically is a data center or a regional hub with a site-local IGP such as OSPF running in the site-local environment. We will see how the Overlay Management Protocol (OMP) best-path selection could cause a complete loss of reachability to a single-legged remote site in case of a WAN link failure, even if a backup path exists. This will give you an extra perspective on the OMP protocol.
